Anaheim California is nicknamed “Surf City”. It has over 3 miles of Pacific Ocean coastline, and is the 10 thmost populous city in the United States. Anaheim is a bustling city, and while it is very well known for its various theme parks, you can also find some cheap, and even free, places to visit and be entertained while in Anaheim. It is only about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles, so if you are looking for something a bit busier, Anaheim is a great place to stay and still be able to visit other parts of the state. Let’s take a look a few great places to check out next time you are in Anaheim!
OAK CANYON NATURE CENTER
This free Nature Center is hidden in the Anaheim Hills. It is a 58-acre park that has hiking and jogging trails available, but also different canyons you can visit and really explore nature. You can choose from many different types of hikes, from beginner to more intense. It is a great idea to wear some good hiking shoes regardless of the type of trail you choose! The gates for the trails close at 5 pm, so make sure and arrive in time to complete your adventure. Free movie nights also happen on Friday nights, though they do suggest a donation of $5 per family.
