This classic diner will take you back in time! SAM LYNN BALLPARK
Built in 1941, and sometimes called the “Historic” Sam Lynn Ballpark, it is the oldest ballpark of the Advanced California League of Class-A baseball. It was previously home to the Bakersfield Badgers, but today, the Bakersfield Blaze call it home. It was named after a local businessman, who was instrumental in helping to fund the local youth baseball leagues. In 1993, the original wood grandstand was demolished, and replaced with the current concrete grandstand. The seating capacity of this ballpark is 3,500. A great place to watch a fun baseball game!

If you live in Bakersfield, you can’t imagine life without this restaurant and Italian grocery store! It has been around since 1910, and you can see the history of not only the city, but also the restaurant on the walls. Faded, yellow photos of past visitors, famous sports figures, and buildings that no longer fill the city, fill the walls of this great place. THE LINKS AT RIVERLAKES RANCH
This 18 hole golf course is opened to the public. Ronal Fream designed this Scotland inspired course. It was completed in 1999, and with 6,800 yards on hilly terrain, it provides an interesting course to have a great golf game on. Over 200 mature almond trees were saved during the building of this course, and you will also find California redwoods and Canary Island pines throughout the course. You will find 12 lakes, and 3 beautiful fountains on the grounds. If you need a pro shop, you will find one here! It is right up near the clubhouse and practice facility.

MOO CREAMERY
When you hear the name of this great little place, you probably immediately think of ice cream. But at Moo Creamery, you’ll find things other than ice cream. Don’t worry-you will definitely find delicious ice cream here, too! This shop has even been featured on Food Network-TWICE! Homemade ice cream, peanut butter topped hamburger with bacon jam, whiskey caramel milkshake, and garlic fries are just a sampling of the creative items offered. Dewar’s Candy Shop is another one of those Bakersfield places you must visit! They have been around for more than a century, and this blast from the past is a great place to get some delicious ice cream, and take you back in time. TABLE TOP GAMING-PALADINS GAME CASTLE
This awesome place is great for gamers, fans of Pokemon, and various card and dice game players. It opened in 2003, and is locally owned and operated. They have lots of types of Hobby Games and accessories, including board games, collectable card games, roleplaying games, and game sleeves, binders and boxes. HART MEMORIAL PARK
This is one of the oldest parks in Kern County. It was dedicated in 1929 as Kern River Park, and renamed in 1947 for the Kern Co Supervisor, John Hart. This park is filled with beautiful and interesting scenery. Even if you aren’t interested in running and breaking a sweat, there are beautiful areas for skating, cycling, and just walking around. Disk Golf is played here often. The Disk Golf areas are worthy of Championship level competitions. There are picnic areas available, as well as fishing areas, children’s playgrounds, restrooms, and even a wildlife habitat! This is a wonderful place to relax, and just enjoy yourself! The park is open 5 am to 10 pm.
